Godspeed

Godspeed

Exclamation, dated:  an expression of good wishes to a person starting a journey.

Origin Middle English:  from God speed you [may God help you prosper.]

Godspeed is another dusty old word moldering away in the forgotten recesses of the English lexicon.  It invokes God’s blessing without using the usual terms.  Use it in place of goodbye or bon voyage or farewell to send someone off on a journey under a blessing.
