Blithely

Blithely

Adverb:  showing a casual and cheerful indifference considered to be callous or improper; happy or joyous.

If, as they say, ignorance is bliss, then perhaps ignorance blithely walks the earth un-bothered by the extraneous details of life.  Blithe seems to have a negative connotation, showing a person who seems to be happy in not caring, someone who is not thoughtful.  The literary use of blithe doesn’t have the negative baggage of the common definition and simply means happy.

Ad hoc

Ad hoc

Adjective & adverb:  formed, arranged, or done for a particular purpose only.
